Analytical techniques used for condition assessment of a late period mummy

Gomaa Abdel-Maksoud et al.

Summary: This study evaluates and explains the deterioration state and mechanisms of a dog mummy dating back to 664-333 BC, preserved in the agriculture museum in Egypt for conservation guidance. Various analytical techniques were used to identify different forms of deterioration in the mummy, including dehydration, acidity, oxidation, and bone deterioration.

The Efficacy of Silver Nitrate (AgNO3) as a Coating Agent to Protect Paper against High Deteriorating Microbes

Amr Fouda et al.

Summary: This study focused on the efficacy of silver nitrate as a coating agent to preserve papers against microbial deterioration. The results showed that AgNO3 could effectively inhibit the growth of Bacillus subtilis and Penicillium chrysogenum, as well as improve the color and mechanical properties of the paper.
