Simulating Flash Floods in Small Rivers of the Northern Caucasus with the Use of Data of Automated Hydrometeorological Network

E. S. Vasil'eva et al.

Summary: This study focused on numerical modeling of rain-induced flash floods in mountain areas using actual and forecast data on precipitation. The comparison of calculated hydrographs with hydrometeorological network data and calculations of other authors confirmed the effectiveness of the models in forecasting rain floods. Results showed that incorporating reservoirs-traps and simulating flood wave passage are new advancements in hydrological research.
