A universal H2O2-induced phase transformation of nickel sulfide towards sulfur-rich component

Qin Hu et al.

Summary: The properties of materials are closely related to their morphology, phase, and composition. A facile one-step H2O2-induced method has been demonstrated to controllably tune the phase and composition of NSs. The performance of NSs in KOH electrolyte mainly correlates with morphology, and the H2O2-induced tactic shows high adaptability for different sulfur sources.

High energy density hybrid supercapacitor based on cobalt-doped nickel sulfide flower-like hierarchitectures deposited with nitrogen-doped carbon dots

Zhenyuan Ji et al.

Summary: By utilizing a two-step solvothermal route, nitrogen-doped carbon dots (NCDs) decorated cobalt-doped nickel sulfide (Co-NiS) flower-like hierarchitectures were successfully synthesized. These hierarchitectures exhibit ultrahigh specific capacity and remarkable rate capability, making them promising candidates for advanced supercapacitor electrodes. Coupling with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) anode modified with ap-phenylenediamine (PPD), a hybrid supercapacitor device was constructed with impressive energy density and decent cyclic stability, showing potential for high-performance energy storage applications.
