MnFe2O4 decorated graphene as a heterogeneous catalyst for efficient degradation of di-n-butyl phthalate using catalytic ozonation in water

Yan Yu et al.

Summary: Magnetic and stable graphene-MnFe2O4 hybrids were synthesized for efficient degradation of DBP using catalytic ozonation. The 5-rGO-MFO-200 catalyst showed significant boost in DBP degradation and good recycling stability. The mechanism involved electron cycling between Mn2(+) and Mn3+ producing (OH)-O-center dot for DBP degradation.

Coupling of KMnO4-assisted sludge dewatering and pyrolysis to prepare Mn,Fe-codoped biochar catalysts for peroxymonosulfate-induced elimination of phenolic pollutants

Lidong Kou et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that the use of KMnO4 as a chemical conditioner improved the dewatering efficiency of waste sludge, while also facilitating the incorporation of Mn oxides into biochar catalysts. The resulting Mn,Fe-codoped catalysts showed efficient activation of peroxymonosulfate for complete removal of phenolic contaminants, highlighting their potential in organic degradation applications.

Reduction of ozone dosage by using ozone in ultrafine bubbles to reduce sludge volume

Kurumi Hashimoto et al.

Summary: Sludge ozonation is a promising technology for reducing waste sludge volume from biological wastewater treatment process. Using ultra-fine bubbles (UFBs) as ozone carriers can improve the efficiency of ozone treatment and reduce the ozone dose required. UFBs reduce the ozone requirement in sludge and contribute to the acceleration of bacterial death in sludge treated with ozone.

Optimizing environmental pollution controls in response to textile dyeing sludge, incineration temperature, CaO conditioner, and ash minerals

Candie Xie et al.

Summary: The dynamics of heavy metal speciation and flue gas emissions during the incineration of textile dyeing sludge were quantified with different levels of CaO addition, incineration temperature, and ash minerals. Addition of CaO improved the retention behaviors of certain heavy metals and inhibited various gas emissions. The optimal operational temperature for both environmental quality and economic efficiency was determined using neural network-based multi-response optimization.
