Subnanometric Pt on Cu Nanoparticles Confined in Y-zeolite: Highly-efficient Catalysts for Selective Catalytic Reduction of NOx by CO

Liang Li et al.

Summary: CO selective catalytic reduction (CO-SCR) technology is effective in removing harmful CO and NO in exhaust gases. The newly developed Pt-Cu catalyst showed enhanced catalytic performance at an extremely low Pt content, achieving full NO conversion at 250 degrees C, highlighting the synergistic catalysis of Pt and Cu for improved efficiency.

Single Ir Atoms Anchored on Ordered Mesoporous WO3 Are Highly Efficient for the Selective Catalytic Reduction of NO with CO under Oxygen-rich Conditions

Ruihuan Jiang et al.

Summary: The catalyst consisting of single Ir atoms anchored on mesoporous WO3 showed excellent catalytic performance in the reduction of NO by CO under oxygen-rich conditions. The formation of isolated Ir atoms and newly generated Ir-WO3 interfaces, along with the presence of accessible mesopores in m-WO3, contribute to its superior catalytic activity. The study provides new insights into active sites in Ir-based catalysts and offers a new approach for the design and synthesis of single-atom catalysts, especially precious metal catalysts for emissions control.

How to scrutinize adsorbed intermediates observed by in situ spectroscopy: Analysis of Coverage Transients (ACT)

S. Ted Oyama et al.

Summary: This study presents a general method for analyzing whether an adsorbed species is a reactive intermediate in hydrogenation or oxidation reactions, providing order-of magnitude estimates of the rate of reaction. The example of hydrodeoxygenation of gamma-valerolactone using a Ni2P/MCM-41 catalyst demonstrates the application of in situ infrared and X-ray absorption spectroscopy to characterize reaction intermediates.

La promoted CuO-MnOx catalysts for optimizing SCR performance of NO with CO

Tangkang Liu et al.

Summary: La-Cu-Mn-O catalysts with different La contents were prepared and evaluated for low-temperature selective catalytic reduction of NO by CO (CO-SCR). Lanthanum was found to be conducive in reducing the size of copper and manganese particles, preventing their agglomeration, and enhancing the reducibility of the catalysts. This led to the increase in exposed active sites and a high proportion of active ions on the surface, promoting NO conversion at lower temperatures.
