SCAI cardiogenic shock classification after out of hospital cardiac arrest and association with outcome??

Nilesh Pareek et al.

Summary: Increasing SCAI shock grade after Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest is associated with 30-day mortality, requirement for renal replacement therapy and mortality attributed to multiorgan dysfunction syndrome and cardiac etiology death. Early coronary angiography is significantly associated with reduced mortality only in SCAI grade D patients.

Noninvasive Hemodynamic Assessment of Shock Severity and Mortality Risk Prediction in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit

Summary: This study defines the hemodynamics associated with each SCAI shock stage and their association with mortality in CICU patients. Noninvasive echocardiographic parameters, particularly low stroke volume index and high E/e' ratio, are strongly associated with hospital mortality.
