Fabrication of Forcespinning® nanofibers incorporating nopal extract

Cristobal Rodriguez et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that nanofibers composed of Opuntia cochenillifera nopal mucilage, chitosan, and pullulan, produced via Forcespinning, showed high stability, water absorption capacity, and antibacterial properties. These findings suggest that incorporating naturally derived nopal extract into nanofiber systems could offer a natural alternative for wound healing dressings.

Aloe Vera extract-based composite nanofibers for wound dressing applications

Raul Barbosa et al.

Summary: Composite nanofibers made of natural materials such as Aloe vera extract, pullulan, chitosan, and citric acid were successfully produced via Forcespinning technology, exhibiting good water absorption capabilities and synergistic antibacterial activity. These nanofibers have potential applications in wound dressing due to their porous structure and high surface area, providing protection from infection while maintaining good thermal stability.
