Adsorption of methylene blue dye on sodium alginate/polypyrrole nanotube composites

Ezgi Nur Heybet et al.

Summary: Nanomaterials, specifically polypyrrole nanotube incorporated sodium alginate, showed promising results in the adsorptive removal of methylene blue dye from aqueous solution. The Langmuir isotherm model was found to be the most suitable in describing the adsorption process, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 666.7 mg/g at pH=7 and 25 degrees C. Additionally, the adsorption followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and occurred exothermically and spontaneously based on the thermodynamic parameters.

Ana Catarina Baptista et al.

Summary: The study explored electronic controlled drug release from fibres using ibuprofen as a model drug, demonstrating voltage-controlled drug release with Ppy functionalised gauze and CA fibres. SEM images showed Ppy adhesion to fibres, while Micro Raman spectra confirmed drug incorporation and release. A small wound adhesive built with these membranes was able to retain ibuprofen at 1.5 V and quickly release it at -0.5 V.

One-Pot Preparation of Conducting Melamine/Polypyrrole/Magnetite Ferrosponge

Jaroslav Stejskal et al.

Summary: The study fabricated a conductive melamine/polypyrrole/magnetite ferrosponge by depositing polypyrrole on a sponge via the oxidation of pyrrole with iron(III) chloride, followed by treatment with ammonia solution to produce magnetite. The composite sponge was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy for its molecular structure, and its conductivity was found to be dependent on compression. The sponge showed promising performance in electromagnetic radiation shielding in the GHz region, with polypyrrole providing radiation reflection and magnetite contributing to absorption.

Summary: New types of materials were produced by heating conducting polymer, polypyrrole, to elevated temperatures, resulting in various morphologies like globules, nanofibers, and nanotubes. These materials maintained their morphological features after exposure to temperatures up to 700 degrees C in an argon atmosphere. The specific surface areas increased with morphological changes, but were not significantly affected by the exposition temperature.
