Large reversible magnetic entropy change of R3Ni6Al2 (R = Dy, Ho and Er) compounds

J. W. Xu et al.

Summary: Large magnetocaloric effects and magnetic properties were systematically studied in R3Ni6Al2 (R = Dy, Ho, Er) compounds. Ho3Ni6Al2 compound showed the largest magnetic entropy change, Dy3Ni6Al2 compound exhibited the largest refrigeration capacity, and Er3Ni6Al2 compound had a large MCE at ultra-low temperatures. Moreover, all compounds displayed second-order phase transitions with negligible thermal and magnetic hysteresis, indicating their potential as excellent MCE materials for low-temperature magnetic refrigeration.

Synthesis and optical properties of GdVO4: Eu3+ phosphor

Himani Thakur et al.

Summary: In this study, GdVO4 doped with Eu3+ was synthesized using a sol-gel method, and the optical properties were analyzed with respect to concentration variation and annealing temperature. As the annealing temperature increased, the material's crystallinity improved, leading to enhanced emission intensity. The potential applications of GdVO4: Eu3+(1 mol%) annealed at 800 degrees C include bioimaging, lighting, temperature sensing, and display devices.
