Structural transition on doping rare earth Sm to Ge2Sb2Te5 phase change material

Sanjay Kumar et al.

Summary: In this study, the influence of doping rare earth element Sm on the structure of Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST) phase change material was investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis revealed that Sm doping affected the hexagonal phase structure of GST, while no significant change was observed in the fcc phase. As Sm content increased, the fraction of hexagonal phase increased and the fraction of fcc phase decreased in GST.

Effect of local structure on the optical and dielectric behaviour of Sm doped Ge2Sb2Te5 phase change material

Sanjay Kumar et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the influence of Sm on the optical properties of GST, analyzing the linear and nonlinear optical characteristics of Sm-doped GST thin films to derive information about the material structure and band structure. Various optical parameters of the GST films are analyzed, and the effect of Sm doping on the local bonding environment of the material is discussed, potentially improving the switching mechanism of phase change memory devices.
