High Thermoelectric Performance in n-Type Degenerate ZrNiSn-Based Half-Heusler Alloys Driven by Enhanced Weighted Mobility and Lattice Anharmonicity

Kishor Kumar Johari et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated the high figure of merit of ZT similar to 1 at 873 K in Nb-doped ZrNiSn alloys, attributing the enhancement to the synergistic effect of power factor improvement and thermal conductivity reduction. The effectiveness of Nb doping in enhancing ZT within semimetallic regimes was theoretically confirmed, establishing Nb as an effective dopant for achieving high-ZT n-type TE materials for power generation applications in mid-temperature regimes.
