Magnetic and electronic structures of N implanted iron oxide thin films

Razia Nongjai et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effect of N ion implantation on Fe3O4 thin films, showing improvements in magnetic properties and electronic structure after ion implantation. The increase in carrier concentration and decrease in resistivity were also observed, contributing to the enhanced magnetic properties of the implanted thin films.

Electronic and Magnetic Properties of Chemical Solution Deposited BiFeO3 Thin Film: a Soft X-ray Magnetic Circular Dichroism Study

P. Kumari et al.

Summary: The study investigates the electronic and magnetic properties of epitaxial BiFeO3 (BFO) thin films deposited on SrTiO3 (001) substrate via chemical solution deposition technique, characterized by X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and X-ray magnetic circular dichroism techniques (XMCD). The effects of annealing in nitrogen, grain size, porosity, oxygen vacancies, and bismuth vacancies on the properties of the BFO thin films are discussed. Additionally, the large orbital momentum and structural distortion induced anisotropy in BFO thin films are also analyzed.

Direct evidence to control the magnetization in Fe3O4 thin films by N2 ion implantation: a soft X-ray magnetic circular dichroism study

R. Dawn et al.

Summary: The magnetization of Fe3O4 thin films can be controlled by N-2 ion implantation, leading to a transition from high-magnetization phase to low magnetization phase as the dosage increases. Advanced characterization techniques including XAS and XMCD were used to assess the electronic and magnetic properties of the thin films, and VSM measurements further confirmed the magnetic-phase transition in the films.

Magnetic anisotropic of thermally evaporated FeNi thin film: A soft X-ray magnetic circular dichroism study

M. Kumar et al.

Summary: The FeNi film was fabricated on Cu/MgO (001) substrates using the thermal evaporation technique to form an L1(0)-FeNi phase. The magnetic anisotropy of the FeNi film was systematically investigated through XAS and XMCD techniques, revealing significant incident X-ray angle dependence in the orbital magnetic moment of Fe. The enhancement in magnetic anisotropy energy is attributed to the orbital magnetic moments of Fe through spin-orbit interaction.
