Hydrophobic phosphonium-based ionic liquids as novel extractants for palladium(II) recovery from alkaline cyanide solutions

Ci Jin et al.

Summary: In this study, three novel phosphonium-based ILs were synthesized and successfully used for the recovery of Pd(II) from alkaline cyanide solutions, achieving an extraction percentage of greater than 99.0%. Furthermore, the TOUPB system exhibited excellent selectivity in a mixed solution and maintained a Pd(II) recovery percentage greater than 90.0% after five consecutive extraction-stripping cycles.

Hydrometallurgical Recycling of Rare Earth Metal-Cerium from Bio-processed Residual Waste of Exhausted Automobile Catalysts

Sadia Ilyas et al.

Summary: The study examined the hydrometallurgical recycling of cerium from exhausted auto-catalyst secondary residue. By introducing HF into a 2.0 mol/L H2SO4 solution, cerium dissolution was significantly improved. Using Cyanex 923, high-purity cerium precipitate was obtained.
