A novel approach to H8 performance analysis of discrete-time networked systems subject to network-induced delays and malicious packet dropouts

Xian-Ming Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the H-infinity performance of discrete-time networked systems in the presence of network-induced delays and malicious packet dropouts. The introduction of a data packet processor allows for explicit calculation of both network-induced delays and the number of consecutive malicious packet dropouts. A novel Lyapunov functional is constructed and necessary and sufficient conditions for a certain inequality are established using the Finsler lemma. By employing the Lyapunov method, a bounded real condition is formulated to investigate the effects of network-induced delays and malicious packet dropouts on H-infinity performance. The proposed method is validated through an inverted pendulum system.
