Effect of Si element on phase transformation and mechanical properties for FeCoCrNiSix high entropy alloys

Lei Huang et al.

Summary: The research found that Si element can enhance the micro-hardness and wear resistance of high-entropy alloys. The alloy with x=1 (FeCoCrNiSix) exhibited the highest micro-hardness and best wear resistance. Additionally, the wear mechanism changed to abrasive wear with the addition of Si elements.
