Process development for the separation of niobium and tantalum from fluoride medium using trioctyl amine and application of Taguchi's method to optimize solvent extraction parameters

Snehasis Dutta et al.

Summary: The study aimed to develop a trioctyl amine (TOA) based solvent extraction process to eliminate the generation of mixed fluoride waste. Experiments showed that under optimal conditions, 98.88% pure niobium and 98.08% pure tantalum can be obtained.
