Effects of modulation on sodium and potassium channel currents by extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields stimulation on hippocampal CA1 pyramidal cells

Yu Zheng et al.

Summary: The study revealed that stimulation with extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMFs) can affect ion channel currents on hippocampal CA1 pyramidal neurons in rats, particularly sodium channel currents. ELF-EMFs stimulation may alter the activation and deactivation properties of ion channels, leading to changes in the electrophysiological characteristics of neurons.

5G mobile networks and health-a state-of-the-science review of the research into low-level RF fields above 6 GHz

Ken Karipidis et al.

Summary: Studies have shown that low-level RF fields above 6 GHz, such as those used by the 5G network, do not pose a confirmed hazard to human health. While some effects have been observed in experimental and epidemiological studies, most of the research employed low quality methods of assessment and control. Future studies should focus on improving experimental design, particularly in terms of dosimetry and temperature control, as well as monitoring long-term health effects related to wireless telecommunications.
