A facile method to control the phase behavior of hydroxypropyl cellulose

Mateusz Gosecki et al.

Summary: A facile chemical method is reported to convert the hydroxyl groups of HPC into carbamates using N-methyl carbamoylimidazole. The synthesized HPC methylcarbamates showed a range of LCST values depending on the degree of substitution. The effect of methylcarbamate on LCST is greater when the initial hydroxypropyl content of HPC is lower.

Rheological investigation of supramolecular physical gels in water/dimethylsulfoxide mixtures by lysine derivatives

Geraldine Rangel Euzcateguy et al.

Summary: Two derivatives of lysine were synthesized through acylation and self-assembled to form gels in water solutions. The presence of a chlorine atom in one of the derivatives resulted in a significant increase in gelation time scale and a decrease in rheological moduli.

Thermoinduced aggegation of chitosan systems in perikinetic and orthokinetic regimes

Anna Ryl et al.

Summary: Thermoresponsive colloidal chitosan systems can be used as injectable scaffolds or drug carriers, and the introduction of an external shear field accelerates the aggregation process, potentially leading to spontaneous gelation.

Influence of Glycerophosphate Salt Solubility on the Gelation Mechanism of Colloidal Chitosan Systems

Piotr Owczarz et al.

Summary: The study focused on the impact of using different types of glycerophosphate salts on the gelation properties and phase transition conditions of thermosensitive chitosan systems, highlighting the significant differences in viscoelastic properties observed. The findings indicated that the type of glycerophosphate salt used played a crucial role in the gelation process, with calcium glycerophosphate leading to the fastest gelation and magnesium glycerophosphate delaying gelation due to heat-induced dissolution.
