Selective actions of benzodiazepines at the transmembrane anaesthetic binding sites of the GABAA receptor: In vitro and in vivo studies

Megan McGrath et al.

Summary: Research has shown that benzodiazepines binding to different sites on the GABA(A) receptor can have varying effects on receptor activity and animal behavior, resulting in either decreases or increases in locomotion. Selective binding to these sites by different benzodiazepines at high concentrations may lead to distinct receptor and behavioral actions.
