Degradation of STOP1 mediated by the F-box proteins RAH1 and RAE1 balances aluminum resistance and plant growth in Arabidopsis thaliana

Qiu Fang et al.

Summary: The study reveals that in Arabidopsis, RAH1 promotes the degradation of STOP1 and its expression is controlled by STOP1. Loss of RAH1 in the rae1 mutant increases STOP1 protein levels, enhancing Al resistance, while plant growth in the rae1rah1 double mutant is affected, which can be rescued by introducing stop1 mutation.

Transcriptome analysis reveals significant difference in gene expression and pathways between two peanut cultivars under Al stress

Dong Xiao et al.

Summary: The study identified key pathways and genes associated with aluminum stress in peanuts, showing that rapid transcriptomic response helps activate effective aluminum tolerance mechanisms, MAPK signal transduction plays important roles in early response to aluminum stress in peanuts, and there is a link between ethylene signaling transduction and aluminum resistance-related genes in peanuts.

Small RNA and degradome deep sequencing reveals important roles of microRNAs in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) response to root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita infection

Caiping Cai et al.

Summary: The research identified 50 differentially expressed miRNAs in cotton roots infected by root knot nematodes, with their targeted genes involved in regulating cotton immune responses. These findings will facilitate the development of new cotton cultivars for nematode resistance.
