Aberrant Dyskerin Expression Is Related to Proliferation and Poor Survival in Endometrial Cancer

Rafah Alnafakh et al.

Summary: The study found that dyskerin levels are significantly lower in endometrial cancer and are linked to the survival of women. Experimental results suggest that dyskerin may be a regulator of endometrial cancer cell proliferation, and may be a potential target for developing new therapies.

Abnormal function of telomere protein TRF2 induces cell mutation and the effects of environmental tumor-promoting factors

Zhengyi Wang et al.

Summary: Recent studies have shown that somatic gene mutations and environmental factors are essential for tumor formation. TRF2, a key component in maintaining chromosome stability, has become a hot topic in tumor research and plays a crucial role in tumor development. TRF2 interacts with various signaling proteins associated with cell proliferation, angiogenesis, immune escape, and stemness of tumor cells, making it a potential prognostic marker and therapeutic target for cancer treatment. Through its involvement in various regulatory mechanisms, TRF2 helps tumor cells survive and adapt, providing a promising strategy to combat drug resistance and eliminate tumors.

Nucleolar protein 10 (NOP10) predicts poor prognosis in invasive breast cancer

Khloud A. Elsharawy et al.

Summary: NOP10 is a key factor in ribosome biogenesis and telomere maintenance, and its high expression is significantly associated with aggressive features in breast cancer, especially in the triple-negative breast cancer subtype. High NOP10 protein expression is an independent predictor of poor outcome, shorter survival, and higher risks of death and distant metastasis in chemotherapy-treated patients. This suggests that NOP10 may serve as a potential prognostic biomarker and predictive indicator for chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer.
