Comparison of nomogram with machine learning techniques for prediction of overall survival in patients with tongue cancer

Rasheed Omobolaji Alabi et al.

Summary: This study compared the performance of a nomogram and a machine learning model in predicting overall survival in tongue cancer patients, with the machine learning model outperforming the nomogram. Patient age, T stage, radiotherapy, and surgical resection were identified as significant features influencing the machine learning model's performance.

Comparison of machine learning algorithms for the prediction of five-year survival in oral squamous cell carcinoma

Huda Alkhadar et al.

Summary: The study found that the best performing model in machine learning prediction of oral cancer outcomes was the Decision tree classifier, followed by the Logistic Regression model. The Naive Bayes model showed no predictive value. Future studies are advised to explore a variety of machine learning models, including Logistic regression, to help evaluate model performance.
