Mechanistic investigation of photocatalytic degradation of Bisphenol-A using MIL-88A(Fe)/MoS2 Z-scheme heterojunction composite assisted peroxymonosulfate activation

Debashis Roy et al.

Summary: A green synthesis method was employed to synthesize a MIL-88A(Fe)/MoS2 composite photocatalyst for degrading BPA in water. 20% MoS2 doping resulted in optimal activity, increased surface area, and abundant active sites. The excellent photocatalytic activity was attributed to suitable heterojunction formation and efficient Z-scheme heterojunction.

Internal electric field induced S-scheme heterojunction MoS2/CoAl LDH for enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Junnan Tao et al.

Summary: In this study, an internal electric field-induced S-scheme system comprised of 2D CoAl layered double hydroxide and 2D molybdenum disulfide was constructed for efficient photocatalytic hydrogen generation. The 2D/2D MoS2/CoAl LDH hybrid demonstrated eightfold greater photocatalytic hydrogen generation rate compared to CoAl LDH, attributed to a 2D/2D S-scheme charge transfer mechanism induced by the internal electric field at the interface.

Anchoring single Pt atoms and black phosphorene dual co-catalysts on CdS nanospheres to boost visible-light photocatalytic H2 evolution

Rongjuan Feng et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel dual co-catalyst of black phosphorene (BP) and single Pt atoms on CdS nanospheres was prepared for efficient visible-light-driven hydrogen generation. The single Pt atoms interacted strongly with BP and CdS surfaces through photo-reduction and covalent bonds, enhancing the photocatalytic performance. The results demonstrate the synergistic effect of single Pt atoms and BP on spatial charge separation, leading to a significant improvement in the hydrogen evolution rate.
