After long run tests, both catalysts formed La2O2CO3 phase, but Ni-La CA showed more severe deactivation.

Dry reforming of methane over Ni supported on LaMnO3 thin films

Effect of the synthesis method on the morphology, textural properties and catalytic performance of La-hexaaluminates in the dry reforming of methane

Summary: The synthesis and optimization of nickel/lanthanum hexaaluminates (NiO/LHA) for dry reforming of methane (DRM) were studied in this work. The catalysts showed high stability and catalytic activity, with specific surface areas and tailored structures obtained through various synthesis methods, contributing to the improved performance in DRM reactions. Factors such as textural properties, metal interaction, and nickel grain growth and distribution in the support were found to influence catalytic stability and conversion rates. Additionally, the identification of different coke types and their effects on catalytic deactivation provided insights into the mechanisms underlying the superior catalytic performance of the NiO/LHA catalysts.

Dry reforming of methane on bimetallic Pt-Ni@CeO2 catalyst: a in situ DRIFTS-MS mechanistic study

Summary: The bimetallic Pt-Ni@CeO2 catalyst exhibited significantly enhanced performance in terms of activity, H2/CO ratio, and long-term stability compared to the monometallic Ni@CeO2 catalyst. In situ studies revealed that the Pt phase in the bimetallic catalyst played a crucial role in improving CO2 dissociation, reducing coke formation, and enhancing metal dispersion for CH4 decomposition.
