Enhancement of biogas production from sunnhemp using alkaline pretreatment

Nusara Sinbuathong et al.

Summary: This study investigates the pretreatment of sunnhemp to enhance biogas production, showing that pretreated sunnhemp produces 89% more methane yield than untreated sunnhemp. The potential of sunnhemp in producing biogas is high, and using sunnhemp for biogas production is recommended to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate global warming.

Anaerobic co-digestion of food waste, poultry litter and sewage sludge: seasonal performance under ambient condition and model evaluation

Sunil Prasad Lohani et al.

Summary: This study investigated the co-digestion of sewage sludge, poultry litter, and food waste in different mixing ratios at ambient temperatures in summer and winter. The results showed that the 2:1:1 mixing ratio had the highest biogas yield in summer with 65% methane composition and 60% VS removal efficiency, making it the most viable option for increasing biogas production. Mathematical modeling results also supported the experimentally obtained values, indicating that the 2:1:1 mixing ratio is optimized for enhanced biogas production.
