Microscratching and fretting of electro-co-deposited Cr-based composite coatings with BN, graphene, and diamond reinforcements

Pragya Tripathi et al.

Summary: The research investigates the effect of BN, diamond, and graphene particles in Cr-based coatings, with diamond particles showing the highest dislocation density and hardness, resulting in reduced wear and friction. Diamond particles are found to promote strong bonding and efficient load transfer in the coating, making them a suitable reinforcement for tribological applications under high load and temperature conditions.

Synergistic effects of La2Mg17/Ni/H system on hydrogen storage

Huaiwei Zhang et al.

Summary: The synergistic effects of the La2Mg17/Ni system on hydrogen storage were discussed, which resulted in the formation of new hydrides with special surface stratified configurations. These configurations improved hydrogen storage properties, significantly increasing storage capacities and cycle stabilities compared to the original alloy. Among them, the -2% Ni sample exhibited the best comprehensive performance.

Insight into physical interpretation of high frequency time constant in electrochemical impedance spectra of Mg

Linqian Wang et al.

Summary: Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements were used to study the surface evolution of magnesium in 0.05 M NaCl solution at three different pH levels. The thickness of the MgO film was calculated based on the assumption that the high frequency time constant originates from the surface film. Comparisons with actual surface conditions confirmed that the high frequency time constant is related to the barrier properties of the surface film.
