Velocity prediction of nanofluid in a heated porous pipe: DEFIS learning of CFD results

Meisam Babanezhad et al.

Summary: The potential of utilizing artificial intelligence algorithms in combination with computational fluid dynamics for simulating complex fluid mechanics problems has been shown, but further development of sophisticated algorithms is needed. Studies on the efficiency of integrating other trainers like differential evolution with FIS, as well as adjusting AI algorithm parameters for optimal intelligence, are lacking. Additionally, the performance of AI algorithms in the meshing process has not been thoroughly considered.

Performance and application analysis of ANFIS artificial intelligence for pressure prediction of nanofluid convective flow in a heated pipe

Meisam Babanezhad et al.

Summary: The study aims to demonstrate the performance of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm as a supplementary method to collaborate with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). By considering the turbulent flow of Cu/water nanofluid heating in a pipe, the AI algorithm learned CFD results and identified the relationship between them. The adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) was found to accurately predict nanofluid pressure, surpassing the time efficiency of CFD simulation.

Investigation on performance of particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm based fuzzy inference system (PSOFIS) in a combination of CFD modeling for prediction of fluid flow

Meisam Babanezhad et al.

Summary: In this study, a PSOFIS based on the PSO algorithm was developed for application in the CFD approach, aiming to simplify and improve prediction accuracy. Results showed that the PSOFIS is closer to CFD results, with a higher regression number compared to ANFIS, and demonstrated strong potential in increasing mesh density and predicting new nodes.

Predicting Air Superficial Velocity of Two-Phase Reactors Using ANFIS and CFD

Meisam Babanezhad et al.

Summary: The integration of machine learning and CFD methods significantly reduces computational time in predicting gas flow properties in continuous fluid and liquid domains. Using ANFIS to train CFD and estimate flow distribution in the bubble column reactor proved effective in reducing expensive numerical simulations. The accuracy of the method can be affected by the number of inputs and membership function specifications.
