Recent mortality in Britain: a review of trends and explanations

Summary: In the period from 2011 to 2019, there was a general slowdown in the annual percentage improvement of standardized mortality rates in most countries, especially in the UK and USA. The decline in mortality rates in Britain since 2011 has affected various age groups, genders, and social classes, but there has been some improvement by the end of 2019.
