Intelligent diagnosis of mechanical faults of in-wheel motor based on improved artificial hydrocarbon networks

Hongtao Xue et al.

Summary: In this study, an intelligent diagnosis method based on artificial hydrocarbon networks (AHNs) is proposed to detect mechanical faults of in-wheel motors in electric vehicles (EV), aiming to enhance driving safety. AHNs, as a novel mathematical model of supervised learning, can handle severe external interference and varying operating conditions. By optimizing the error function and defining the distance error ratio, two intelligent diagnosis systems, namely one-stop diagnosis and sequential diagnosis, are developed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through case studies using datasets from Case Western Reserve University and mechanical faults data from IWM's test bench.

A Fuzzy System of Operation Safety Assessment Using Multimodel Linkage and Multistage Collaboration for In-Wheel Motor

Hongtao Xue et al.

Summary: This article proposes a fuzzy system of operation safety assessment (OSA) to monitor electrical and mechanical faults of an in-wheel motor and evaluate its operation safety. The method utilizes symptom parameters and possibility theory to express the features of faults and obtain evaluation models. A decision matrix is established using picture fuzzy set, and a multimodel linkage mechanism is designed using Mahalanobis distance and the best-worst method. Finally, a fuzzy OSA system is established using the modified TODIM method and prospect theory. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through experimental analysis.

A Model-Driven Scheme to Compensate the Strain-Based Non-Intrusive Dynamic Pressure Measurement for Hydraulic Pipe

Zechao Wang et al.

Summary: A dual-stage model-driven scheme is proposed to compensate dynamic pressure measurement by deriving DSSCs from axial governing equations of pipes, considering both thin-walled and thick-walled pipes, and calibrating physical parameters to minimize the residual between experimental and theoretical results. The compensated dynamic pressure based on the relationship between DSSCs and SSSCs shows significantly reduced relative error in an industrial hydraulic pipe system, validating the proposed compensation method.

Spectrum-Based, Full-Band Preprocessing, and Two-Dimensional Separation of Bearing and Gear Compound Faults Diagnosis

Lingli Cui et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a spectrum of full-band preprocessing and 2-D separation method for diagnosing compound faults of bearings and gears in gearboxes. The method effectively reduces noise through inverted editing and amplitude-level decomposition, separates processing results in frequency and amplitude dimensions, and detects fault components through envelope analysis. Simulation analysis and experimental verification support the effectiveness of this method, which also addresses essential problems in existing methods.
