Heat transfer from a ferrofluid during generalized Couette flow through parallel plates in the presence of an orthogonal magnetic field

Dibyendu Ghosh et al.

Summary: This study reports heat transfer characteristics of ferrofluids in a parallel plate channel under unidirectional laminar flow and the influence of a magnetic field on viscosity and thermal conductivity. The interplay between hydrodynamics and magnetics is analyzed, showing that the local temperature can be reduced by increasing the applied field strength. Numerical solutions to the coupled governing equations have been provided, along with analytical solutions for temperature distribution under different boundary conditions.
