An Improved iBAT-COOP Protocol for Cooperative Diversity in FANETs

Summary: Flying ad hoc networks (FANETs) pose challenges due to their dynamic and highly mobile nature. Various techniques have been employed to address these challenges, with the BAT Algorithm being proposed as a biologically inspired metaheuristic technique for the routing protocol iBATCOOP. Simulation results show that the iBAT-COOP protocol outperforms the BAT-FANET protocol, reducing packet loss ratio, end-to-end delay, and transmission loss by 81%, 21%, and 82% respectively, while improving average link duration by 25%.
