Study on self-healing and corrosion resistance behaviors of functionalized carbon dot-intercalated graphene-based waterborne epoxy coating

Yuwei Ye et al.

Summary: Functionalized carbon dots were used to modify graphene and prepare CDs modified graphene/epoxy coatings with excellent self-healing and corrosion resistance properties. The highly dispersed graphene in the coating acted as a physical barrier to protect the steel, contributing to its superior protective performance.

Gravimetric, electrochemical and theoretical study, and surface analysis of novel epoxy resin as corrosion inhibitor of carbon steel in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution

Said Abbout et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the performance of pentaglycidyl ether pentaphenoxy of phosphorus (PHQ) resin as a corrosion inhibitor in sulfuric acid, showing excellent corrosion inhibition behavior with high efficiency. The inhibitor molecules were found to form chemical links with the electrode surface through a chemisorption process, providing good protection against corrosive agents.

Ceratonia Siliqua L seeds extract as eco-friendly corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in 1 M HCl: Characterization, electrochemical, surface analysis, and theoretical studies

Said Abbout et al.

Summary: The electrochemical and theoretical behaviors of carbon steel in 1 M HCl solution using Ceratonia Siliqua L seeds extract were investigated, showing a valuable anti-corrosion action with an inhibition efficiency of 95% at 100 mg/l at 298 K. The adsorption of CFE extract onto the carbon steel surface is controlled by a Langmuir adsorption isotherm, indicating no interactions between molecules of the extract during adsorption. Computational chemistry calculations were performed to better understand the inhibition and adsorption behavior of the main constituents of the CFE extract on the Fe (110) surface.
