In this study, a {Zn2Dy} single-ion magnet with octahedral coordination geometry (O-h) was synthesized and characterized. Magnetic susceptibility measurements revealed magnetic blocking below 4.1 K. Combining experimental data and ab initio calculations, the dynamic relaxation characteristics of this complex were detailed.
A {Zn2Dy} single-ion magnet (SIM) with octahedral coordination geometry (O-h) was synthesized and characterized. The zero-field-cooled (ZFC) and field-cooled (FC) magnetic susceptibility measurement diverged below 4.1 K, revealing the presence of the magnetic blocking. Combining experimental data and ab initio calculations, we depicted the dynamic relaxation characters of this complex in detail.
