Genome-wide investigation of bHLH genes and expression analysis under different biotic and abiotic stresses in Helianthus annuus L.

Juanjuan Li et al.

Summary: A total of 183 HabHLH genes were identified and classified into 21 subfamilies in sunflower. Through DNA binding patterns, sequence analysis and duplication analysis, it was found that the duplicated gene pairs, specifically eight pairs, underwent positive selection. The HabHLH024 gene showed significant upregulated expression under both abiotic and biotic stresses, indicating its potential role as a candidate gene for sunflower tolerance breeding.

Genome-wide investigation and expression analysis of membrane-bound fatty acid desaturase genes under different biotic and abiotic stresses in sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.)

Juanjuan Li et al.

Summary: This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the membrane-bound fatty acid desaturase (FAD) gene family in sunflower, revealing their wide expression in different tissues and their significant roles in responding to various stresses. Specific up-regulated genes such as HaFAD32, HaADS8, HaFAD2.1, and HaADS9 could be potential candidate genes for sunflower tolerance breeding.
