Camelina, an ancient oilseed crop actively contributing to the rural renaissance in Europe. A review

Federica Zanetti et al.

Summary: Promoting crop diversification in European agriculture can enhance crop productivity, quality, and resilience while reducing environmental stresses. Camelina, with its broad environmental adaptability, low-input requirements, resistance to pests and diseases, and multiple uses, has been studied extensively in Europe over the past three decades. Despite its potential, further research and promotion are needed to scale up camelina cultivation in Europe.

Diagnosis of camelina seed yield and quality across an on-farm experimental network

Summary: Studies on camelina performance in northern France showed that major limiting factors affecting yield and quality variations were nitrogen crop status, downy mildew, and weed biomass. Understanding these factors can help improve camelina performance through selecting resistant genotypes, managing nitrogen fertilization, and adjusting sowing dates.
