Gastrointestinal leaks were traditionally repaired by surgery. However, the use of endoscopic devices, particularly the over-the-scope clip, has become popular as a less invasive alternative for treating leaks.
Gastrointestinal leaks were traditionally repaired by surgery. Interests in finding a less invasive alternative lead to use of endoscopic devices to treat leaks. Endoscopic over-the-scope clip developed a decade ago has recently become popular in treating gastrointestinal leaks. We report a unique case of a suture line leak following remnant gastrectomy that was successfully repaired using over-the-scope clips. Remnant gastrectomy was done to treat fistulae that had developed between the gastric pouch and the remnant stomach in our patient who had a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass 15 years ago. Our patient had three sites of leak that were successfully closed using two over-the-scope clips in one session.
