Beam Learning in MmWave/THz-Band Drone Networks Under In-Flight Mobility Uncertainties

Summary: This article focuses on designing high-data-rate wireless communications for drone networks in the mmWave and THz frequency bands. It introduces a beam control scheme called LeBeam to maximize the expected capacity of the links by dynamically determining the optimal beamwidth based on the mobility uncertainties of flying drones. The performance of LeBeam is evaluated using a trace-driven simulator, showing that small- and large-scale mobility uncertainties significantly degrade the link capacity.
