Universal nature and specific features of streamers in various dielectric media

Natalia Yu Babaeva et al.

Summary: This paper presents a review of general and specific properties of ionization waves-streamers, discussing characteristics of streamers in gases and liquids, sprites in the Earth's atmosphere, and guided streamers in cold atmospheric-pressure plasma jets. Information on streamer structure, propagation velocity, and radius, as well as parameters of the streamer plasma obtained using diagnostic methods, numerical modeling, and analytical approach in various media are analyzed.

Resolving Elve, Halo and Sprite Halo Images at 10,000 Fps in the Taiwan 2020 Campaign

Cheng-Ling Kuo et al.

Summary: Ground-based observations have confirmed the TLE family, including elves, halos, sprites, and blue jets, after nearly thirty years of efforts. Elves have the shortest emission time, followed by halos. Despite being more frequent, elves and halos are less likely to be recorded due to their fleeting nature. Submillisecond imaging of these TLEs helps in understanding their dynamics and features, but there are limited reports in the literature.
