A Game Theoretic Approach for Demand-Side Management Using Real-Time Variable Peak Pricing Considering Distributed Energy Resources

Mrityunjay Kumar Mishra et al.

Summary: This article proposes a new pricing scheme that switches its behavior between real-time pricing and time of use, based on the demand, and tests its impact. The study analyzes the conditions for the existence of Nash equilibrium and convergence of three pricing schemes. The analysis shows that the proposed pricing scheme has advantages in reducing energy bills, peak reduction, complexity, and incentive for user participation.

Transactive Energy Market Framework for Decentralized Coordination of Demand Side Management Within a Cluster of Buildings

Rohit Chandra et al.

Summary: The article proposes a generalized hierarchical transactive energy based multiagent framework for flexibility in electricity demand to achieve demand side management objectives. The framework includes energy management demand agents coordinating different appliance operations at the building level, and actively participating in the market at the cluster level. The experimental results demonstrate the possibility of avoiding dispatch from expensive generation units by reducing peak demand and providing demand response.
