On Adaptive Learning Framework for Deep Weighted Sparse Autoencoder: A Multiobjective Evolutionary Algorithm

Hanjing Cheng et al.

Summary: In this article, an adaptive learning framework for a deep weighted sparse autoencoder is established using the multiobjective evolutionary algorithm. The framework successfully optimizes the autoencoder by introducing weighted sparsity to impose varying degrees of sparse constraints on the hidden units. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and generality of the framework, which is also applied to image quality assessment.

Distributed Quasiconsensus Control for Stochastic Multiagent Systems Under Round-Robin Protocol and Uniform Quantization

Bing Li et al.

Summary: In this article, the problem of consensus control for multiagent systems with stochastic noises and nonidentical exogenous disturbances is investigated. A new consensus concept is employed to evaluate the state response of the agents, and an analysis approach based on an augmented model is proposed. Numerical simulation results demonstrate the applicability of the theoretical results.

On Consensus of Second-Order Multiagent Systems With Actuator Saturations: A Generalized-Nyquist-Criterion-Based Approach

Chen Gao et al.

Summary: In this article, a frequency-domain approach is developed to deal with the global consensus problem for a class of general second-order multiagent systems subject to actuator saturations. The describing function and generalized Nyquist criterion are employed to investigate the global consensus problem for undirected and directed topologies. The proposed theoretical result is validated through numerical simulations.

Set-Membership Filtering Subject to Impulsive Measurement Outliers: A Recursive Algorithm

Lei Zou et al.

Summary: This paper addresses the set-membership filtering problem for linear time-varying systems with norm-bounded noises and impulsive measurement outliers, proposing a parameter-dependent set-membership filter capable of constructing a time-varying ellipsoidal region. The paper introduces a novel outlier detection strategy based on an input-output model and investigates the ultimate boundedness of the ellipsoidal region. Additionally, a simulation example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed filtering strategy.

Solving Many-Objective Optimization Problems by a Pareto-Based Evolutionary Algorithm With Preprocessing and a Penalty Mechanism

Yuan Liu et al.

Summary: The Pareto-based approach is not well suited for optimization problems with a large number of objectives, prompting the proposal of a new algorithm in this article to address this issue. The algorithm tackles the problem by eliminating DRSs using an interquartile range method and balancing convergence and diversity through a penalty mechanism of alternating operations. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm generally outperforms its competitors on a variety of test functions with 3-15 objectives.

Moving Horizon Estimation of Networked Nonlinear Systems With Random Access Protocol

Lei Zou et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the moving horizon estimation issue for a type of networked nonlinear systems with a random access protocol scheduling effects. A novel nonlinear MH estimation scheme is developed to cope with the state estimation task, and sufficient conditions are established to guarantee that the estimation error is exponentially ultimately bounded in mean square.

Probability-Guaranteed Envelope-Constrained Filtering for Nonlinear Systems Subject to Measurement Outliers

Lifeng Ma et al.

Summary: This article addresses the recursive filtering problem for nonlinear time-varying stochastic systems with possible measurement outliers, proposing a filter design with saturation constraint to mitigate the effects of abnormal measurements. Performance indices such as finite-horizon H-infinity specification and envelope-constraint criterion are used to describe transient characteristics of filtering error dynamics, with sufficient conditions for the filter's existence derived through convex optimization algorithms. An illustrative numerical example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed algorithm.
