This article discusses the adjustments made to the journal in 2021, focusing on meeting the sustainable goals of the United Nations for Latin America in the areas of electrical energy, computing, and electronics, along with enhancing the dissemination and quality of authors' work.
The years 2020 and 2021 were characterized by a pandemic that made explicit the human fragility and the great value of solidarity during difficult times. Provided this context, during 2021 the journal aligned its scope to be focused on scientific or technical results in agreement with the sustainable goals of the United Nations for Latin America, lying in the areas of electrical energy, computing, and electronics. Additionally, now the journal is focused not only on the exchange of academic ideas involving research papers but also the exchange of computational code, databases, and other tools that may enrich the transfer of knowledge to society. To improve the dissemination of our authors' work, articles completely written in English can now be submitted, and the editorial committee was strengthened to ensure adequate follow-up to these articles. In order to increase the quality of our articles, in 2022, our editorial organization was modified according to the main areas of the Journal: computing, electronics, and electrical energy. Now, every area constitutes a section with its own section editor and its own editorial committee. These sections are intended to apply differentiated requirements on the quality of the articles' content to select those with a higher level of innovation and higher scientific and technical content.
