Transmitter and Receiver Window Designs for Orthogonal Time-Frequency Space Modulation

Zhiqiang Wei et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the impacts of transmitter and receiver windows on the performance of OTFS modulation and proposes window designs to improve channel estimation and data detection performance. The optimal transmitter window minimizes detection MSE and enhances the sparsity of the effective channel in the DD domain. Simulation results verify the superiority of the proposed window designs over the conventional rectangular window design in improving channel estimation and data detection performance.

Hybrid MAP and PIC Detection for OTFS Modulation

Shuangyang Li et al.

Summary: This article proposes a novel hybrid signal detection algorithm for OTFS modulation, which combines the near-optimal symbol-wise MAP detection algorithm and a partitioning rule to reduce complexity. The algorithm utilizes power discrepancy of subsets to apply MAP detection to subset with larger channel gains and PIC detection to subset with smaller channel gains, achieving performance close to near-optimal algorithms with substantial gain compared to existing ones.

Performance Analysis of Coded OTFS Systems Over High-Mobility Channels

Shuangyang Li et al.

Summary: In this paper, we investigate the error performance of coded OTFS modulation over high-mobility channels and uncover the fundamental trade-off between coding gain and diversity gain for OTFS systems. The performance improvement of OTFS modulation over conventional OFDM modulation in high-mobility channels is demonstrated through simulation results. Additionally, the impact of channel coding parameters on the performance of coded OTFS systems is analyzed and verified through simulations using classical and modern codes.
