Unsupervised Learning of Auroral Optical Flow for Recognition of Poleward Moving Auroral Forms

Summary: An unsupervised auroral optical flow model, UnAurFlow, was proposed to recognize poleward moving auroral forms (PMAFs) in auroral image sequences. By combining with ResNet and attention mechanism, PMAFs were automatically recognized with a precision of 84.77% from continuous auroral observations, outperforming state-of-the-art unsupervised optical flow algorithms.
