Neural Activation in Risky Decision-Making Tasks in Healthy Older Adults: A Meta-Analysis of fMRI Data

Thomas Tannou et al.

Summary: Decision making is a complex cognitive phenomenon commonly used in everyday life, and differences in behavioral strategies in risky decision-making tasks have been observed in older adults. Functional neuroimaging has allowed the exploration of neural networks involved in risky decision making in healthy older adults. The limited studies included in the meta-analysis suggest a different hemispheric lateralization pattern in older participants compared to young adults.
