Fabrication of NanoCOF/Polyoxometallate Composites for Photocatalytic NADH Regeneration via Cascade Electron Relay

He Li et al.

Summary: This study reported the fabrication of nanoCOF/POM composites as photocatalysts with high NADH yield and TOF value. The results showed that the enhanced photocatalytic activity of the nanoCOF/POM composites was mainly attributed to the promoted transfer of photogenerated electrons through electron relay, leading to increased charge separation efficiency.

Chemoselective NADH Regeneration: the Synergy Effect of TiOx and Pt in NAD+ Hydrogenation

Maodi Wang et al.

Summary: The strong metal-support interaction between Pt and TiO2 greatly enhances the selectivity to NADH, reaching a maximum of 63.4%. Pt is responsible for H-2 activation and dissociation, while TiOx aids in preferential adsorption of NAD(+) through amide C=O. Preventing direct adsorption of NAD(+) on Pt sites is crucial for achieving high NADH selectivity, offering a new designable idea for selective NAD(+) hydrogenation.

DFT Mechanism Studies: Biomimetic 1,4-NADH Chemoselective, Co-factor Regeneration with [Cp*Rh(bpy)H]+, in Tandem with the Biocatalysis Pathways of a Core Model of the (HLADH)-Zn(II) Mediated Enzyme, in the Enantioselective Reduction of Achiral Ketones to Chiral S-Alcohols

Alessandro Marrone et al.

Summary: Quantum chemical calculations were employed to investigate the mechanistic aspects of the chemoselective catalyzed reaction between [Cp*Rh(bpy)H](+) and biomimetic NAD(+) analogues. The study revealed that the [Cp*Rh(bpy)H](+) complex controlled the hydride transfer during the conversion to 1,4-NADH analogues by non-covalent interactions. Additionally, the thermodynamics and kinetics of chiral reduction reactions catalyzed by Zn(II) bound ketones were also examined, providing insights into the enantioselective hydride transfer mechanism in HLADH-Zn(II) biocatalysis.
