By synthesizing the latest literature and case studies, state-of-the-art analytical procedures and recommendations have been provided for effective sampling, extraction, amplification, quantification, and generation of DNA inventories from sedimentary ancient DNA (sedaDNA) using high-throughput sequencing technologies.
