Comparison of 15 dinoflagellate genomes reveals extensive sequence and structural divergence in family Symbiodiniaceae and genus Symbiodinium

Raul A. Gonzalez-Pech et al.

Summary: Genome sequences of Symbiodiniaceae are still scarce due to their large genome sizes and unique genome features. This study presented de novo genome assemblies of seven members of the genus Symbiodinium, revealing high sequence and structural divergence among different lineages, with some Symbiodinium isolates showing comparable divergence to distinct genera of Symbiodiniaceae.

The GIMAP Family Proteins: An Incomplete Puzzle

Marc-Andre Limoges et al.

Summary: Long-term survival of T lymphocytes is crucial for maintaining cell numbers, and the GIMAP family of proteins plays a significant role in this process. Recent studies suggest that GIMAP proteins may interact with each other and be involved in the cellular cargo movement.

Cnidarian Pattern Recognition Receptor Repertoires Reflect Both Phylogeny and Life History Traits

Madison A. Emery et al.

Summary: By investigating the PRR repertoires of cnidarians, researchers found that anthozoans possess more typical PRRs compared to medusozoans. Anthozoans also have a higher number of PRRs, particularly in NOD-like receptors and C-type lectins. Additionally, symbiotic, sessile, and colonial cnidarians have expanded PRR repertoires compared to their non-symbiotic, mobile, and solitary counterparts.

MEGA11 Molecular Evolutionary Genetics Analysis Version 11

Koichiro Tamura et al.

Summary: MEGA software, a mature tool for computational molecular evolution, has been enhanced with new additions for building timetrees of species, pathogens, and gene families using rapid relaxed-clock methods. These additions include methods for estimating divergence times, confidence intervals, and new options for tagging sequences with spatiotemporal sampling information. The enhancements aim to improve user experience, result quality, and the pace of biological discovery.
