High-temperature pyrolysis of petroleum coke and its correlation to in-situ char-CO2 gasification reactivity

Xin Yu et al.

Summary: This study focused on the pyrolysis behavior of petroleum coke at high temperatures. It found a secondary pyrolysis stage at temperatures above 1300 K and observed the release of gases such as HCN, CO2 and SO2 during this process. The study also highlighted the importance of char thermoplastic state in determining its reactivity towards CO2.

A novel approach to prepare Cu(I)Zn@MIL-100(Fe) adsorbent with high CO adsorption capacity, CO/CO2 selectivity and stability via controlled host-guest redox reaction

Van Nhieu Le et al.

Summary: A novel Cu(I)-incorporated MIL-100(Fe) adsorbent for CO/CO2 separation was prepared using a host-guest redox strategy by exploiting the co-addition of Zn(II) and Cu(II). The addition of Zn(II) resulted in a higher Cu(I) yield of the adsorbent and significantly increased the CO/CO2 selectivity of the resulting Cu(I)Zn@MIL-100(Fe)-10.

Effect of steam addition on turbulence-chemistry interaction behaviors of pulverized coal MILD-oxy combustion

Zhenghong Zhao et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of steam addition on turbulent mixing and chemical reaction in pulverized coal MILD-oxy combustion. The results show that steam affects flame temperature, weakens internal flue gas recirculation, and transitions the combustion towards turbulent mixing control. With increasing steam concentration, chemical reactions shift towards diffusion-controlled regime.

Modeling and parametric optimization of air catalytic co-gasification of wood-oil palm fronds blend for clean syngas (H2+CO) production

Muddasser Inayat et al.

Summary: Syngas production from biomass gasification is a sustainable and alternative means of conventional fuels, with main challenges being biomass storage and tar contamination in syngas. Co-gasification of two biomass with mineral catalysts can effectively address these issues. Optimized studies on key parameters such as temperature, biomass blending ratio, and catalyst loading have shown promising results in reducing tar content for clean syngas production.
