Influence of dilute acid, alkali and hydrothermalpretreatments on methane improvement from datepalm waste Takarboucht cultivar

Ikram Mehrez et al.

Summary: This research assesses the impacts of hydrothermal, dilute acid and alkali pretreatments on the methane yield from date palm waste. The results show that hydrothermal pretreatment leads to higher methane yield, while alkali pretreatment improves the solubilization of the waste but decreases methane yield.

Anaerobic co-digestion of oil-extracted spent coffee grounds with various wastes: Experimental and kinetic modeling studies

M. R. Atelge et al.

Summary: The study found that oil extraction from spent coffee grounds as a pre-treatment strategy has a positive impact on increasing methane yield. Moreover, co-digestion of defatted spent coffee grounds with spent tea waste, glycerin, and macroalgae showed potential advantages. Additionally, a triple mix of defatted spent coffee grounds, spent coffee grounds, and spent tea waste outperformed other mixed substrates.

Biogas and methane yield enhancement using graphene oxide nanoparticles and Ca(OH)2 pre-treatment in anaerobic digestion

Rajneesh Kaushal et al.

Summary: The combination of graphene oxide nanoparticles (GO-NPs) and Ca(OH)(2) pre-treated slurry mixed with wheat straw has been found to enhance biogas and methane production in anaerobic digestion. The optimum composition of GO-NPs and other additives resulted in a significant increase in cumulative methane yield compared to the control group over a 40-day hydraulic retention time.
