Self-regenerable carbon nanofiber supported Fe - Mo2C catalyst for CH4-CO2 assisted reforming of biomass to hydrogen rich syngas

Amoolya D. Lalsare et al.

Summary: A self-regenerable Fe/Fe3C-Mo2C-CNF catalyst was developed and evaluated over 15 cycles of CH4-CO2 assisted biomass reforming, showing potential in producing hydrogen-rich syngas. The catalyst exhibited in-situ regeneration through nucleation on carbon-saturated Fe3Cx sites, with changes in Fe composition and different nanocluster dispersion affecting the synthesis of graphene nanosheets and CNF/CNT. Hydrodeoxygenation reforming of biomass accounted for 40-60% of the oxygenates during the reactions.

Catalytic conversion of plastic wastes using cost-effective bauxite residue as catalyst into H2-rich syngas and magnetic nanocomposites for chrome (VI) detoxification

Dan Xu et al.

Summary: The study investigated the application of red mud as a cost-effective catalyst for the pyrolysis and catalytic conversion of plastic wastes, resulting in increased gas yield and H-2 production at high temperatures. The carbon/RM nanocomposites were comprehensively evaluated, showing potential for chromium(VI) removal in sewage treatment. The correlation mechanism between catalytic temperature and product evolution was also discussed.

Synthesis of modified char-supported Ni-Fe catalyst with hierarchical structure for catalytic cracking of biomass tar

Qunqing Lin et al.

Summary: This study reported the directional construction of modified char-supported Ni-Fe catalyst for strengthening tar cracking, which showed superior catalytic performance at optimized temperature, significantly reducing the relative content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon compounds in residue tar and exhibiting high activity for the cleavage of tar macromolecules. The results are expected to establish the theory foundation and construction method of char-supported Ni-Fe catalyst for tar catalytic cracking in the industry.
